Virginia City Hybrid Energy Center Dominion VA Power maintenance

The 585 MW Virginia City Hybrid Energy Center, a Dominion-owned power plant that can burn both coal and biomass, is offline for a scheduled maintenance period, according to a report from the Bristol Herald Courier.

Dominion (NYSE: D) Spokesman Greg Edwards told the Herald Courier will be going through maintenance checks through early or mid-May. The maintenance work is being performed by facility employees as well as additional workers brought in under contract.

Edwards added coal-fired power facilities routinely undergo annual checks, and the Virginia City Hybrid Energy Center will perform a month-long maintenance screening each year.
