Turkey expected to announce nuclear plant contract winner this week

The energy minister of Turkey said the country will announce the winner of its tender for construction of a new nuclear power plant will be announced by the weekend, Bloomberg reports.

The project, projected to cost around $22 billion, will be the country’s second nuclear plant. China and Japan are reported to be front runners, though Japan’s Mitsubishi Heavy Industries is widely expected to win the contract, according to Turkish sources cited by Bloomberg.
