SunPower announces two California solar power projects

SunPower Corp. (Nasdaq: SPWR) has announced that construction has started for two solar projects for Yolo County in California. The two projects, which will be owned by Yolo County, will generate 5.8 MW of solar power for county facilities.

The two ground-mounted solar power systems will utilize SunPower solar panels. One of the systems will use SunPower panels on the SunPowerT0 Tracker system, which follows the sun’s movement during the day.

SunPower built Yolo County’s first solar power system in 2010, a 1 MW system at the Yolo County Justice Center. The two projects now under construction are expected to be completed this summer.
