Georgia Power purchases 250 MW of wind energy

Georgia Power Southern Co. EDP Renewables North America wind Oklahoma

Georgia Power, a subsidiary of Southern Co. (NYSE: SO), signed an agreement with EDP Renewables North America to add 250 MW of wind energy to its portfolio.

Georgia Power will receive the output from EDP’s wind farms in southwest Oklahoma. The utility is scheduled to begin receiving the energy on January 1, 2016.
