First simulated terrorist attack on US nuclear plant a success

The first-ever simulated terrorist attack drill at a nuclear power plant in the US has been deemed a success by federal officials, Reuters reports.

The drill, which took place last Friday at the Three Mile Island nuclear plant, near Harrisburg, Pa., included an assault by eight armed men. In November 2011, the Nuclear Regulatory Commission issued a requirement that all nuclear plants in the US test preparedness for terrorist attacks every two years.
