Alstom enters service contract with Lake Road Generating Co.

Alstom has entered into a €125 million ($160.5 million) service contract with Lake Road Generating Co. L.P. for Lake Road’s 844 MW combined cycle natural gas-fired power plant in Dayville, Conn.

The agreement covers the facility’s three Alstom GT24 gas turbines. Under the contract, Alstom will deliver parts and equipment for the performance of planned maintenance as well as provide the facility with all necessary craft labor and on-site technical field advisers.

The contract also includes delivery of an Alstom gas turbine upgrade package consisting of technical and operational improvements designed to lower the cost of running and maintaining gas turbines by extending time between inspections.

The contract will be executed by Alstom’s North American Thermal Services business, which has also recently announced two major nuclear steam turbine retrofit projects for American Electric Power (NYSE: AEP) and Ontario Power Generation.
