Consumers Energy to use weather prediction for outage management

Consumers Energy (NYSE: CMS) picked Schneider Electric as its primary provider of weather information in Michigan. The company’s location-specific weather data will help the utility improve outage and restoration management by identifying when and where to assemble crews.

Schneider Electric’s real-time and historical weather and lightning strike data – provided in partnership with Vaisala – provides Consumers with precise information to assist in managing load, outages and restoration during different weather events.
