Construction begins on natural gas-fired power plant in Delaware

Calpine Corp. (NYSE: CPN) began construction on the Garrison Energy Center, a planned 309 MW combined-cycle natural gas-fired power plant in Delaware, according to the Dover News Journal.

Calpine picked Kvaerner as the general contractor. Work is expected to be completed by mid-2015. Calpine has received all construction permits, and plans to extend a natural gas pipeline to the plant are on schedule, the article said.
