Stock Equipment Co. was awarded a contract from FirstEnergy Corp. (NYSE: FE) to supply 88 ModuPower Switch Mode Power Supply (SMPS) units for three coal-fired boilers in West Virginia. Each ModuPower is designed to improve the particulate matter collection efficiency of existing electrostatic precipitators (ESP).
This order will complete the replacement of all 96 power supplies across the three coal-fired boilers to help the unnamed power plant comply with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s Mercury and Air Toxics Standards.
This is the second order for the same facility. The first order was for the installation of eight ModuPower units that were made to reduce excessive ID fan erosion caused in part by high ash loading.
