Two wind farms planned in Peru

ContourGlobal, through its subsidiary, ContourGlobal Latam S.A., said Oct. 3 that it will construct two wind farms in Peru that it has acquired from Energia Eolica S.A. (EESA).

The Cupisnique and Talara wind projects will have a total installed capacity of 114 MW. Cupisnique will use 45, 1.8 MW Vestas V-100 wind turbines, while Talara will use 17 of the V100 turbines. Both wind farms will also build a new substation and transmission line to connect with the grid in Peru. Vestas will provide turnkey engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) services for the projects. The total expected investment is approximately $250 million.

The projects will sell their output under 20-year power purchase agreements under Peru's RER program.
