Fuel Tech awarded emissions control contract in Taiwan

Fuel Tech Inc. (NASDAQ: FTEK) was awarded a $7.6 million contract to supply equipment and engineering services for an ASCR Advanced Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) project in Taiwan, Republic of China.

This order, placed by an existing customer for two industrial boilers burning coal and other gases, incorporates Fuel Tech’s combined Low NOx Burner (LNB), Over-Fire Air (OFA), NOxOUT Selective Non-Catalytic Reduction (SNCR) and SCR technologies. Equipment deliveries are currently scheduled for the first and third quarters of 2013.

Fuel Tech's ASCR system is a layered technology approach that can integrate three mainstream NOx control technologies: combustion modifications, SNCR and SCR into one reduction solution.
