Hydroelectric power plant in Colombia secures financing

Colombian state power generator Isagen has secured a $73 million credit facility for its 820 MW Sogamoso hydroelectric plant, according to BNamericas.

Banco Santander (NYSE: SAN) is providing the credit along with a guarantee from France-based Euler Hermes, the article said. The funding will finance the dam’s turbines being built by Andritz Hydro.

The project is expected to come online in 2014.
