Foster Wheeler to supply equipment to coal-fired power plant in S. Korea

Foster Wheeler AG (Nasdaq: FWLT) said that a subsidiary of its Global Power Group has been awarded a contract to design and supply a circulating fluidized-bed (CFB) steam generator for an industrial complex in Yeosu City, South Korea. The contract was awarded by Yeosu Cogeneration Corp., a subsidiary of Hanwha Corp. Terms of the agreement were not disclosed.

Foster Wheeler has received a full notice to proceed on the contract to design and supply a 60 MWe CFB steam generator plus auxiliary equipment and provide site advisory services. The generator will be designed to burn coal while meeting environmental standards.

The CFB steam generator is expected to begin commercial operation in early 2015.
