Canada, UAE sign nuclear energy agreement

The Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) on Sept. 19 signed an Administrative Arrangement pursuant to the agreement between the government of Canada and the government of United Arab Emirates for cooperation in the peaceful uses of nuclear energy.

The two agreements will allow Canadian companies to export nuclear items for peaceful uses, in accordance with Canada’s nuclear non-proliferation policy.
