Alstom wins wind turbines order in Brazil

Alstom on Sept. 27 said it has signed two contracts totaling about €270 million ($348 million) with Queiroz Galvão, an infrastructure group in Brazil. The contracts cover the manufacturing, delivery, installation and commissioning of ECO 122 wind turbines in two wind complexes in the northeast region of Brazil. Alstom will also provide operation and maintenance service of the turbines for 10 years.

The ECO 122 is a 2.7 MW onshore wind turbine and is the latest evolution of Alstom’s ECO 100 turbine platform.

The turbines will be produced at Alstom’s manufacturing unit in Camaçari which opened in November 2011.
