Nuclear waste treatment contract awarded to Amec

Amec on July 26 said it has been awarded a three year contract to provide waste treatment services to the Bohunice nuclear power plant in Slovakia.

Amec will retrieve and treat the 600 cubic meters of waste at the two VVER 440 reactors at the plant, which shut down in 2008 and 2010.

The value of the contract has not been announced.
