Community wind farm begins construction in Minnesota

Juwi Wind began construction of the 30 MW Community Wind South wind farm in Nobles County, Minn.

The first foundation has been poured for 15 REpower MM92, 2 MW wind turbines expected to be delivered over the summer and early fall. Signal Energy Constructors will build the project, which is expected to be completed in October 2012.

Juwi will construct and operate the project and members of the community will own a portion of it. The power will be sold to Xcel Energy (NYSE: XEL) under a long-term purchase agreement.
