Wood Group to upgrade controls at Kentucky hydropower plant

Wood Group GTS signed a contract for the upgrade of plant controls on five hydroelectric units at an unnamed generating station in Kentucky.

The work scope involves replacement of outdated equipment with modern PLC-based controls to upgrade hardware and software to ensure compatibility across all the generating units at the site. Work will begin immediately and should be completed around December 2014.

Wood Group GTS is an independent provider of rotating equipment services and solutions for clients in the power, oil & gas and clean energy markets.
