Kohl's Department Stores to install solar power projects in six states

Kohl's Department Stores (NYSE: KSS) said that the company will expand its solar program by nearly 25 percent in 2012, installing solar panels at approximately 30 additional Kohl's locations in six states.

Construction of the solar panel projects began this past spring, and are expected to be complete by the end of 2012. Once they are finished, Kohl’s expects to have more than 150 solar projects across 13 states, including California, Maryland, Massachusetts, New York and Ohio.

Through the on-site energy at the solar locations, two wind locations and the purchase of renewable energy credits, Kohl’s offsets more than 100 percent of its conventional companywide energy use.
