Kansas wind power project completed

Duke Energy Renewables and Sumitomo Corp. of America completed the 131 MW Cimarron II Windpower Project in Kansas.

Kansas City Power & Light will purchase all of the output and renewable energy certificates under a 20-year power purchase agreement.

Duke Energy Renewables, a commercial business unit of Duke Energy (NYSE: DUK), sold a 50 percent stake in Cimarron II and the 168 MW Ironwood Windpower Project in Kansas to Sumitomo Corp. of America in April.
