B&W unit to design coal-fired boiler for Colombian plant

The Babcock & Wilcox Co. (B&W, NYSE: BWC) said that its subsidiary, Babcock & Wilcox Power Generation Group Inc. (B&W PGG) was awarded an engineering contract by Hyundai Engineering Co. Ltd. to design a coal-fired boiler for the Termotasajero Power Plant in Colombia.

B&W PGG will engineer the 180 MW boiler, coal pulverizers, air heater, fans and structural steel for Termotasajero Unit 2.

Engineering work for Termotasajero is underway, and a full notice to proceed on the project is expected in 4Q 2012.
