Abengoa to build 200 MW solar PV plant in California

Spain-based Abengoa was selected to carry out the engineering, construction and start-up of a 200 MW solar photovoltaic plant in Imperial Valley, Calif. for $360 million.

The project is scheduled for completion in 18 months and is expected to come into operation during the second half of 2013. The project is expected to create around 150 direct jobs during the design and development stages, as well as jobs with local subcontractors.

Abengoa already has a presence in numerous states in the Arizona and Mojave deserts.
