Nuclear power fuel agreement signed by Areva and EDF

Areva and EDF have signed an agreement for the supply of fuel assemblies and related services for 2013 and 2014.

The two groups said they have also decided to negotiate a medium to long-term framework agreement on the production of fuel elements.

“The deliveries will include the new M5 alloy which makes it possible to obtain excellent results in terms of an increase in the performance and reliability of assemblies,” said Markus Birkhofer, Areva Fuel Business Unit executive vice president.
