APS to build 35 MW solar facility on state land

Arizona Public Service Co. said it will build a 35 MW solar photovoltaic (PV) plant on lands owned by the state of Arizona in Yuma County.

APS will start construction of the APS Foothills Solar Plant in August 2012, with plans to commission the first 17 MW phase in March 2013, and the remaining 18 MW by December 2013.
