Acciona to build wind turbines, manufacturing plant in Brazil

Acciona Windpower, a unit of Acciona SA, won a 15-year contract to supply, install and maintain 40, 3 MW wind turbines in Brazil.

According to Bloomberg, the turbines will be used at the 120 MW capacity Atlantica wind farm in Rio Grande do Sul state owned by CPFL Renovaveis. CPFL has the concession to independently produce wind power at Atlantica for 35 years.

Acciona reportedly also plans to add a fourth manufacturing plant in Brazil, the article said. The other three are in Spain and the U.S.
