Tenaska Power Services names new president

Tenaska Power Services Co. (TPS), the power marketing affiliate of Omaha, Neb.-based Tenaska, has promoted Kevin Smith to president, effective May 1, 2012, with the retirement of current President Trudy Harper. Smith has been serving as senior vice president of Tenaska Power Services.

Harper started with Tenaska in 1992 and became president of TPS with its inception in 1996. Her retirement will be effective April 30, 2012.

Smith, a TPS employee for 14 years, also serves on the SERC Reliability Corp. board and executive committee, as well as the Southwest Power Pool Market Operations Planning Committee, and will continue to be active in a number of industry organizations. Before joining Tenaska, he was instrumental in the creation of Delhi Energy Services Inc., Delhi’s power marketing affiliate, and directed that company’s activities.

Harper will remain a member of the Tenaska Board of Stakeholders.
