Poll: Aproval of natural gas continues to rise in the U.S.

A new poll from Harris Interactive shows that approval of fossil fuels, particularly natural gas, continues to rise among the U.S. population.

Around 66 percent of respondents felt that the benefits of natural gas generation outweigh the risks, while 17 percent believe the risk outweighs the benefits.

When it came to coal-fired generation, 42 percent said the benefits outweigh the risks, while 40 percent said the risks outweigh the benefits.

Harris Interactive surveyed 2,056 adults in between February 6 and 13 about their views on energy sources ranging from natural gas to nuclear.
