Guatemala hydro project expected to come online in 2016

The 63 MW El Orégano hydro project in Guatemala is planned to come online in 2016, according to Business News Americas.

The project has reportedly secured all required licenses and permits, and engineering, procurement and construction contracts are under review, the article said.

Oregano is planned for the municipality of Jocotán in Chiquimula department and would use water from the Grande or Jocotán river. The project would use 1.94m3/second.
