Gas-fired power plant worker dies in accident

An Oklahoma Gas and Electric Co. (OG&E) employee died March 20 in an accident at the 1,230 MW gas-fired Redbud power plant in Luther, Okla., according to The Oklahoman. OG&E said Gary Patterson, a mechanic at the plant, suffered the fatal injury on the morning of March 20.

Not many details of the accident were given, according to the newspaper, but the company said the accident is currently being investigated.

The Redbud plant is co-owned by the Grand River Dam Authority and the Oklahoma Municipal Power Authority.
