Construction on wind energy project to proceed

NorthWestern Energy issued a notice to proceed to Compass Wind to move forward with construction on the 40 MW Spion Kop Wind Project in Montana.

The Montana Public Service Commission approved the purchase of the $86.1 million project in February 2012.

The Spion Kop Wind Project will use 25 1.6 MW GE (NYSE: GE) wind turbines. Construction is set to begin in spring 2012 and the project is expected to be completed by the end of 2012.
