Coal-fired power plant to use B&W technology

The Babcock & Wilcox Co. (B&W, NYSE: BWC) said its subsidiary Babcock & Wilcox Power Generation Group Inc. (B&W PGG) has been awarded a contract to design and supply reheaters for three 660 MW coal-fired boilers at FirstEnergy’s (NYSE: FE) Harrison Power Station in Haywood, W.Va.

Reheaters are specially designed tube bundles used to increase the temperature of steam in a boiler.

The preliminary delivery date for the first reheater is scheduled for early 2014.
