Areva announces leadership change in North America

As part of an ongoing effort to improve efficiency and operations through restructuring and consolidation of North American business entities, Areva on March 15 said Areva NP Inc. and Areva NC Inc. will become integrated companies under Areva Inc.

As a result of this restructuring, Michael W. Rencheck will serve as the president and chief executive officer of Areva Inc. to replace Jacques Besnainou.

Rencheck joined Areva NP Inc. in January 2009. Areva NP Inc. was Areva’s largest North American business unit with annual revenues of more than $1.3 billion. The consolidated Areva Inc. now has annual revenues of more than $2 billion. Rencheck will assume his new duties effective immediately.
