GE to supply solar panels to Illinois project

GE (NYSE: GE) will supply 23 MW of advanced solar equipment to Invenergy for it’s Grand Ridge Solar project in Illinois.

The Grand Ridge Solar project is adjacent to the company’s 210 MW capacity Grand Ridge Wind project. Invenergy owns and operates the wind farm, which uses 140 GE 1.5 MW turbines.

GE will supply solar panels as well as packaged inverter skids that include inverters, transformers and re-combiners as well as GE SunIQ plant controls. The plant is expected to be complete in mid-2012.
