NextEra sells gas-fired power plant

NextEra Energy Resources LLC, the energy subsidiary of NextEra Energy Inc. (NYSE: NEE), said its subsidiaries have completed the sale of their ownership interest in the 583 MW Rhode Island State Energy Center (RISEC)  to subsidiaries of Entergy Corp. (NYSE: ETR) for approximately $346 million, subject to customary closing adjustments.

RISEC recently completed work with Siemens (NYSE: SI) to uprate its combustion turbines, increasing the facility's nominal capacity to approximately 583 MW from 550 MW. A NextEra Energy Resources affiliate will operate RISEC for an initial period of one year under a service contract.
