Combined-cycle plant completes financing, picks CH2M Hill as EPC contractor

West Deptford Energy Holdings LLC, a unit of LS Power, completed financing for the construction of the 738 MW natural gas-fired combined-cycle power plant in New Jersey. Terms of the financing were not disclosed.

CH2M HILL has been awarded an engineer, procure, and construction (EPC) contract for the project. The contract includes all site and civil work, the supply and installation of two advanced technology Siemens (NYSE: SI) SGT6-5000F combustion turbine generator units, two heat recovery steam generators, one steam turbine generator, and complete balance of plant, including commissioning and startup.  A 230 kV electrical switchyard will also be provided. Gray water supplied from the adjacent Gloucester County Utility Authority sewage treatment plant will be further treated onsite to produce the water quality required for use in the power plant.

CH2M HILL has received a full release to proceed with construction, which is scheduled to begin in early 2012 and commercial operations targeted for 2014.
