Sale of four natural gas-fired power plants completed

NextEra Energy Resources Inc., a unit of NextEra Energy Inc. (NYSE: NEE), completed the sale of four natural gas-fired power plants to LS Power for $1.05 billion. The deal was announced in September.

The plants sold are the 507 MW Blythe Energy Center in California; the 668 MW Calhoun Energy Center in Alabama; the 98 MW Cherokee Energy Center in South Carolina; and the 879 MW Doswell Energy Center in Virginia.

A unit of NextEra Energy Resources will continue to operate three of the facilities for an initial period of five years, while the fourth facility will be operated by the unit for an initial two-year period under service contracts.
