Wind energy project closes on financing

Invenergy Wind LLC has closed on financing for the 110.4 MW capacity Gratiot County Wind Project in Michigan. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

GE Energy Financial Services, a unit of GE (NYSE: GE) will invest in the project that is currently under construction. Invenergy is also building an additional 102.4 MW. Both projects will use 133 1.6 MW GE turbines.

The first phase of the farm is scheduled for completion in early 2012. DTE Energy (NYSE: DTE) signed power purchase agreements for both phases of the wind farm.
