NextEra Energy announces leadership changes

NextEra Energy Inc. (NYSE: NEE) said that Armando Pimentel, current executive vice president and chief financial officer of the company, has been named president and CEO of NextEra Energy Resources, the company's power generation unit. He replaces Mitch Davidson, who left the company.

Pimentel joined the company as CFO in 2008.

The company also announced that Moray Dewhurst has been named vice chairman and CFO of NextEra Energy. Dewhurst served as the company's CFO from 2001 to 2008. He has served in his present role as vice chairman and chief of staff of NextEra Energy since 2009, and will retain those responsibilities.

Both changes are effective immediately.
