Wind energy projects to use GE turbines

GE (NYSE: GE) will supply 188 1.6 MW wind turbines for the Settlers Trail and Pioneer Trail wind farms in Illinois. E.ON Climate & Renewables NA (ECRNA) is developing both projects.

The 300 MW in turbine capacity will be covered under an existing operation and maintenance service agreement between GE and ECRNA.

The 1.6 MW turbines are based on GE’s 1.5 MW turbine technology and feature 82.5-meter diameter rotors with 80-meter towers.
