Wind energy farm in Ontario purchased by Samsung and Pattern

Pattern Energy Group LP partnered with Samsung Renewable Energy to buy the 180 MW capacity Armow wind power project in Ontario from Acciona. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

The wind farm will use wind turbine components from Siemens (NYSE: SI) factories in Ontario. Construction is expected to begin in 2013 and be completed in 2014.

The Ontario Power Authority signed power purchase agreements for output from the Armow wind farm along with three other projects owned by Pattern and Samsung: the 270 MW South Kent, the 270 MW K2 and the 150 MW Grand wind and solar power project, all in Ontario.
