FirstEnergy nuclear unit makes management changes

FirstEnergy Nuclear Operating Co. (FENOC), a unit of FirstEnergy Corp. (NYSE: FE), made several management changes.

Kevin Ostrowski was named vice president of Fleet Oversight, succeeding Karen Fili, who was named director of Fleet Operations Support. Fred Cayia was named director of Fleet Performance Improvement.

Ostrowski was previously director of Fleet Operations Support and director of Beaver Valley Site Operations with FENOC. He also was a loaned executive to the Institute of Nuclear Power Operations (INPO), where he served as an organizational effectiveness team leader for plant evaluations.

Fili joined FENOC in 2007 as director of Fleet Project Management. Prior to joining FENOC, she served as nuclear projects manager for Entergy’s Cooper nuclear power plant.

Cayia joined FENOC in 2005 as director of performance improvement at the Perry nuclear power plant and was name the company’s director of Fleet Operations Support in 2010. Cayia also served as an evaluation team manager at INPO.
