Consumers Energy names VP of energy operations

Michele Kirkland was named vice president of energy operations for Consumers Energy (NYSE: CMS) effective October 1. Kirkland succeeds Rufus Gladney, who recently passed away.

In her new position, Kirkland will have responsibility for the construction, operation and maintenance of the company¹s electric and natural gas systems, as well as network services and gas transmission and storage.

Kirkland joined Consumers Energy in 1987. She earned a bachelor¹s degree from Michigan State University.
