Biomass power plant closes on financing

Cate Street Capital, a financier of renewable energy projects, closed on $275 million financing for a 75 MW biomass power plant in New Hampshire.

The Berlin Station is expected to begin generating power by 2013 and has all required permits and approvals to begin construction. It will burn approximately 750,000 tons of low-grade wood each year.

Public Service Co. of New Hampshire signed a 20-year power purchase agreement for the output of the project.
