Biomass boiler to be supplied by Metso

Metso will supply a biomass boiler to the planned We Energies/Domtar 50 MW Biomass Energy Project owned by We Energies. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

The boiler will be installed at the Domtar Mill in Wisconsin. It will use circulating fluidized bed (CFB) technology to burn waste wood from logging and mill activity, tree trimming and sawdust.

The plant is expected to enter commercial operations by 2013.
