Solar manufacturer to own plant in Mexico

SunPower Corp. (NASDAQ: SPWRA), a manufacturer of solar cells, panels and systems, plans to own and operate a solar panel manufacturing facility in Mexicali, Mexico.

SunPower plans to lease an existing building, which has up to 320,000 square feet of capacity. The company will manufacture its E18 series, E19 series and E20 series solar panels for residential, commercial and power plant projects, and will also produce its T5 Solar Roof Tile system.
