PG&E names Earley as its new CEO and president

PG&E Corp. (NYSE: PCG) announced that Anthony F. Earley Jr. will become the company's new chairman of the Board, chief executive officer and president.  He is retiring from his position as executive chairman of DTE Energy (NYSE: DTE) on Sept. 12 and will begin at PG&E Sept. 13.

Current DTE Energy President and Chief Executive Officer Gerard Anderson will assume the additional role as Chairman of the Board once Earley leaves and will retain his current positions. Anderson was elected as president and CEO of DTE Energy in September 2010.

Earley joined Detroit Edison in 1994 as president and chief operating officer. He became CEO in 1998 and served in that role through 2010. He began his career in 1985 at Long Island Lighting Co.

He holds an undergraduate degree in physics and graduate degrees in engineering and law, all from the University of Notre Dame.

At PG&E, interim Chairman, CEO and President Lee Cox will continue in his role until Earley begins and then will continue as lead director.
