Areva names two to lead nuclear business unit

Areva named Michael McMahon as chief executive officer and Bob Grubb as president and chief operating officer of the company’s Transnuclear Inc. unit. Both appointments are effective Sept. 1.

McMahon previously served as U.S. director of international projects for Areva’s Back End Business Group, which includes the group’s used fuel management, recycling, transportation and decommissioning activities. Before joining Areva, he worked as a consultant with McKinsey & Co. and was an officer in the U.S. Navy.

Grubb served as acting head of Transnuclear Inc. since March 2011 and as an officer in various roles with the company since 1999.

Transnuclear Inc. is part of the Areva Logistics Business Unit. It provides dry storage and transportation equipment for the nuclear energy industry.
