Valve manufacturer receives dual certification in China

Curtiss-Wright Flow Control Co. announced that Farris Engineering’s manufacturing facility in Tianjin, China has been awarded both the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) certification and the Chinese Special Quality License (CSQL). Farris Engineering, a business unit of Curtiss-Wright Flow Control, is based in Brecksville, Ohio.

The Farris Tianjin plant’s production scope includes spring-loaded and pilot-operated pressure relief valves in sizes ranging from ½” to 8” inlet. ASME certification permits valves that are manufactured, set and tested at the Tianjin facility to be sold worldwide into markets that require ASME certification. The CSQL, which meets a Chinese government requirement, permits Farris to sell locally manufactured valves into the Chinese market. The plant has been ISO 9001 certified since 2008.
