Microturbine fleet in Mexico to be serviced by Capstone

Capstone Turbine Corp. (Nasdaq:CPST) received an $8.6 million fleet-wide service order from Petroleos Mexicanos (PEMEX), which covers PEMEX's entire 44-unit microturbine fleet. The mircoturbines generate power for manned and unmanned PEMEX oil platforms in the Gulf of Mexico.

The microturbines replaced diesel generators and provide continuous power for each platform's SCADA, fire and gas, emergency stop and auxiliary systems.

Industrias Energeticas, Capstone's distributor based in Campeche, Mexico, secured the order.

Capstone first received service blanket orders from PEMEX in 2007 for fleet-wide service support.
