Gas-fired combined-cycle plant to be sold to Entergy for $253mn

Entergy Arkansas Inc. plans to buy the 620 MW natural gas-fired Hot Spring combined-cycle turbine unit owned by KGen Power Corp for $253 million.

The plant uses a GE 7FA combined-cycle turbine and started operations in 2002.

The plant purchase avoids time delays and unpredictable costs that are often associated with new power plant construction.
